Group Training Organisations are the largest employer of Australian Apprentices (Apprentices and Trainees) in Victoria. Collectively they provide employment for in excess of 8,000 Australian Apprentices annually. The group training service is a unique form of labour contract in which the GTO employ Apprentices and Trainees and then place them with suitable employers (Host Employers) on a lease basis for all or part of the Contract of Training period.
Through our extensive stakeholder base and network of employers, industry bodies, local governments, community agencies, secondary schools and TAFE / RTO and Job Services Australia Providers ATEP remain active in educating the community about Apprenticeships and Traineeships, whether that is employers or employees on their responsibilities and rights in respect of employment and training or individual job seekers on the many career pathways available through entering and completing an Australian Apprenticeship.
